This summer, the Dubai office celebrated its first anniversary! For this occasion, we interviewed Nabil DERARES, office manager, about his experience.

How long have you been in Dubai?

We officially opened the office in August 2023, and I moved to Dubai with my family in November 2023.

How has the office evolved since opening?

We currently have 5 employees working for local clients and in synergy with the group’s other offices on various projects.

We are fortunate to have three recurring clients, and for the coming year, we will be able to count on promising contracts in the energy, construction, nuclear, defense, and aerospace sectors.

Establishing ourselves in Dubai also allows us to leverage the city’s reputation to attract new talent. The establishment has had positive effects on our commercial activities. It sparks the curiosity of our prospects and enables us to differentiate ourselves to win projects.

What are the projects?

Several projects are underway. We are working for Tawazun Industrial Park on mechanical and thermal simulation. We are also involved in more complex composite structure simulations for an international project. The office is also present on piping network flexibility analysis projects and on analyses of structures submerged at sea.

How do you see the future?

There is strong potential in Dubai and in the emirates in general. Saudi Arabia is also part of our medium-term objectives. French expertise in engineering is widely recognized, particularly in the nuclear field, and PHAREA has a large number of references in different industrial sectors.
