Through numerical simulation, we assist in the design and performance improvement of rotating machinery such as centrifugal pumps, fans, turbines, agitators, and surface aerators.
Based on an existing geometry, we are able to characterize the performance of rotating machinery. Starting from a nominal operating point, we can also propose an impeller design adapted to your installation and specific constraints.
In addition, the experimental or numerical characterization of the piping network allows for the determination of the pump’s operating point.
For the specific case of centrifugal pumps, and as part of determining the required NPSH, numerical simulations are conducted in two-phase flow to characterize the evolution of pump efficiency as a function of the fluid inlet pressure. The required NPSH is equal to the fluid inlet pressure when the pump efficiency is degraded by 3% due to the cavitation phenomenon.
