I then completed my training with a professional bachelor’s degree in integrated design and project management, completed as a work-study program at Alstom.

Before joining Pharea, I worked as a consultant in Lyon for Axeal. It has now been 9 years since I joined the Pharea Grenoble teams.

Interests:

I enjoy motorsport, especially rallying! I sometimes take part in competitions as a co-driver in the Grenoble area.

Alongside that, I love cooking for my family and friends. But what I enjoy most about cooking is constantly trying out new flavours.

How would you describe your role within the company?

I have now been working as a design engineer for more than 15 years. To sum it up, my role is to provide my client with my technical added value on every topic.

What does a typical day at work look like, and what projects are you currently working on?

Generally, my days start with reviewing my emails and ongoing projects before beginning my tasks. After that, I start working in 3D/2D software.

At the moment, I am working on gas reliquefaction units installed on LNG carriers (the large ships that transport gas in tanks). The challenge is to prevent the gas from evaporating during transit. To achieve this, we manufacture a machine that reliquefies the gas or keeps it liquid to avoid losses along the way.

To improve the products, we aim to update and modernise the machines by listening to new requirements. Personally, I am responsible for applying the changes to the 2D and 3D models and producing the drawings for manufacturing. I have the advantage of working on the site where most of the machines are manufactured, which allows me to obtain feedback directly.

After that, we hold several “reviews” to validate that the technical design is suitable for everyone and complies with the initial specification.

Once all the changes have been made, I produce the associated drawings.

Tell us an anecdote related to the company or your career path:

Nine years ago, I remember signing my contract on a Sunday, in the former Grenoble branch director’s apartment, which was under renovation, because we could not find a time slot that suited us both.

And to add a little more, I have been with my client for 9 years and have had the opportunity to discover different departments, notably by working twice on the Ariane 6 project. One of the assignments was in the space department, where I contributed to the development of the rocket launcher. The second assignment focused on designing the supply system and routing the fuel from the launch site to the rocket.

After completing my scientific baccalaureate, I chose to pursue a DUT in mechanical and production engineering.
